Something Borrowed, Something Due

Something Borrowed, Something Due is the world's only library-themed cabaret show, and makes a dynamite library fundraiser. Jennie and David weave classics and lesser-known treasures ("Speak Low," "I Could Write A Book," "A Trip To The Library") into a hilarious exploration of the many elements that make up the modern American library: overdue fines; story time; that all-American summertime tradition, the library fair; federal oversight of our borrowing records (courtesy of the USA PATRIOT Act); and that elusive creature of myth and fantasy, the librarian. Selections from a diverse group of songwriters, including Sondheim, the Gershwins, Harold J. Rome, Cole Porter, Marc Blitzstein, Harry Lauder, and Litt & Alpher. Song list available on request.
